Drake University will host a panel discussion featuring top professionals from The Principal Financial Group and DuPont Pioneer. Kavilash Chawla, a partner at Bâton Global, will moderate a discussion between Jim McCaughan, president of global asset management and chief executive officer of Principal Global Investors; Bob Baur, chief global economist of Principal Global Investors; and Paul Schickler, president of DuPont Pioneer.
“End of the Commodities Super Cycle: Implications for the U.S. Presidential Election, the World Economy, and Beyond,” will take place at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, in Sussman Theater in the Olmsted Center, 2875 University Ave. The event is free and open to the public.
The panel will provide an economist’s view on what is driving the end of the commodity super cycle and the implications for the broader global economy in 2016. Attendees will also learn how the decline in commodity prices is affecting a global commodity-related business and how some of the global, macroeconomic forces may impact strategic investments, growth, expansion, and strategy decisions.
Sponsored by The Principal Financial Group and The Principal Financial Group Center for Global Citizenship at Drake, the panel is part of the Center’s spring 2016 speaker and film series.
