The Democratic National Committee has issued Drake University a limited number of tickets for the nationally televised live Democratic presidential candidate debate to be held in Sheslow Auditorium on Saturday, Nov. 14.
Tickets are available to current Drake students, faculty, and staff members, and will be allocated by random lottery with priority given to students. Members of the Drake community received instructions for requesting a ticket via campus-wide email. Each request is for only one ticket, and Drake is not providing tickets for family, friends, or alumni. Drake University is not planning to make tickets available to the general public.
All members of the Drake community who are chosen to receive a ticket will be notified by Friday, Nov. 6, using the preferred email address provided in their request. Tickets are nontransferable. Tickets and photo IDs will be required at the door.
All attendees will be required to be seated by 7 p.m. on debate night, and will need to remain in Sheslow Auditorium for the entirety of the program, until 10 p.m. Those who are unable to commit to attending the entire debate program are asked not to request a ticket.
Additional details regarding building access, street closures, and parking restrictions will be distributed to the Drake community next week.
