Dan Alexander, professor of mathematics and the associate department chair of mathematics and computer science, was awarded the 2014 Award for Distinguished College or University Teaching of Mathematics by the Iowa Section of the Mathematical Association of America (MAA).
Alexander received the award on Oct. 25, 2014 at the annual conference of the Iowa Section MAA held at Clarke University in Dubuque, Iowa.
The Iowa Section MAA are a group of mathematicians who are dedicated to further the development and understanding of, and instruction in, the mathematical sciences. Through this organization, they seek to learn from one another’s experiences and to encourage our students to see the beauty and utility of mathematics.
