Mahmoud Hamad, associate professor of politics, participated in the Arab Association of Constitutional Law’s third annual conference on the implementation of human rights in Beirut, Lebanon. The conference, held October 16-17, was organized by the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance in collaboration with Lebanese University and the Constitutional Council of the Republic of Lebanon, and focused on implementation and enforcement mechanisms for the protection of political, economic, and social rights. Participants included leading constitutional law and politics scholars from 20 different nations. Hamad presented “Judicial Review as the Principal Mechanism for the Protection of Rights.”
