It is little wonder that after five years of courses in Drake’s College of Pharmacy, a graduate should wince at the title “pill pusher.” Whether working toward a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy as a retail pharmacy major or a science major, members of the Pharmacy College work…and work…and work. Sometimes there are lighter moments, like the letter form the man in Alaska who was looking for an assistant. But most times, Dean Benton and his staff of registered pharmacists teach subjects that demand time and perfection. The retail pharmacy major specializes in basic pharmacy, and emphasizes business courses such as accounting and merchandising. The science major stresses advanced work in chemistry and related fields.
