Carrie Koenigsfeld, professor of pharmacy practice, has been elected as an executive committee member-at-large for the American Pharmacists Association Academy of Pharmacy Practice and Management (APhA-APPM).
Koenigsfeld started her career at the Drake College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in 1999. In addition to teaching, she also maintains a practice in outpatient internal medicine. She is currently serving as speaker of the house for Iowa Pharmacy Association (IPA). The College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences honored Koenigsfeld with the Faculty Preceptor of the Year award in 2004 and 2009 and the IPA named her Young Pharmacist of the Year in 2007.
An active member of the American Pharmacists Association (APhA), she has served as a national faculty member for the APhA Immunization and Lipid Certificate Programs, on the Editorial Advisory Board for Pharmacy Today, and was inducted as an APhA Fellow in 2011. She has also written several peer-reviewed papers on a variety of topics and actively participates in clinical research.
The APhA-APPM is dedicated to assisting members in enhancing the profession of pharmacy, improving medication use, and advancing patient care.
