Drake University graduate Dora Crane is the newly elected Merced City Teachers Association president. As president, Crane will champion the rights of students and teachers and is looking forward to a good year leading the 500-member group. She has taught for 23 years.

Michael Emerson returns to TV lineup this fall
Drake University alumnus Michael Emerson will star this fall in "Person of Interest," which will air on Thursday nights on CBS. Emerson is a two-time Emmy Award-winning actor. He received Drake's Alumni Achievement Award in April.
