Drake School of Education Chapter to Induct New Members

News PhotoCatherine Wilson Gillespie, Ph.D., is the chapter counselor for Kappa Delta Pi, the education honor society. On February 20, 2011, they initiated new members who have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and at least 12 education credits taken or in progress.

Kappa Delta Pi is dedicated to scholarship and excellence in education. Through Kappa Delta Pi’s mission, the Epsilon chapter at Drake University strives to improve education at Drake and in the surrounding community. This organization provides endless networking opportunities now and in the future by connecting its members to alum in school districts in and out of Des Moines.

Activities that Kappa Delta Pi has participated in are: the Scholastic Book fair with books earned to donate to a local school, raising money for Iowa Homeless Youth Shelter, as well as information panels on hiring and student teaching.
