Drake professor to explore Mexican identity

DRAKE PROFESSOR TO EXPLORE MEXICAN IDENTITY

Eduardo Garcia, assistant professor of Spanish at Drake University, will present a public lecture, “Mexico Celebrates 2010: Learning about Mexican Identity with Authentic Videos,” on Friday, Oct. 22.

The free lecture will begin at 3:30 p.m. in the Medbury Honors Lounge of Medbury Hall, 2730 Forest Ave. The event is sponsored by the Drake Center for the Humanities.

Garcia will explore Mexico’s celebration of the 200th anniversity of the country’s independence in 2010. There will also be videos to show developments in Mexican culture over the last two centuries.
