Anderson Gallery features work by graduating seniors

Four Drake University seniors are displaying their thesis work from April 23 through May 7 in the Anderson Gallery of the Harmon Fine Arts Center, 25th Street and Carpenter Avenue.

The Senior Thesis Exhibition includes works in sculpture, painting, drawing and graphic design. The opening reception will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 30.

Each senior has selected a title for his or her portion of the exhibit. The titles and students are listed below:

  • “Spectra” by Michael Carbaugh of Naperville, Ill., who is expected to receive a BFA in graphic design with an English minor.
  • “Pushing the Basics” by Meredith Gallivan of Byfield, Mass., who is expected to receive a BFA in graphic design.
  • “Ground≈Space” by Ashley Machacek of Arvada, Colo., who is expected to receive a BA in painting and a BA in English.
  • “Psyche” by Diane Pummill of Slater, Mo., who is expected to receive a BFA in drawing and art history.

The Anderson Gallery is open from noon to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. All events are free and open to the public.
