Drake to host forum on gaming issues in Iowa

Gaming issues will be the topic of the next IowaPolitics.com forum at Drake University on Friday, Feb. 26. The event will start at 10 a.m. in Drake’s Levitt Hall in Old Main, 2507 University Ave.

Confirmed panelists are:

  • Wes Ehrecke, president of the Iowa Gaming Association
  • State Rep. Mary Mascher, D-Iowa City, chairwoman of
    the House State Government Committee
  • State Rep. Doug Struyk, R-Council Bluffs
  • Naomi Sea Young Wittstruck, leadership development minister for social justice and mission, Iowa Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church

Additional panelists may be added in the coming days.

IowaPolitics.com Des Moines Bureau Chief Lynn Campbell will moderate the program, and questions will be accepted from audience members.

The event will be broadcast later on the Mediacom Connections channel statewide and will be available for On Demand viewing on Mediacom Channel 1.

The forum is part of the “Cookies and Conversation” series presented by Drake, IowaPolitics.com and Mediacom.

Doors will open at 9:30 a.m. and taping of the show will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Free parking will be available in Drake lots at 26th Street and University Avenue and at 25th Street and Carpenter Avenue.
