KANSAS CITY, MO. – The Drake women’s soccer team was recently recognized by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) for its sportsmanship with a Team Ethics Bronze Award.
The Bulldogs, under the leadership of second-year head coach Lindsey Horner, were one of 14 teams nationally across all playing divisions who received no red cards this past season, while accumulating a maximum of 10 yellow cards.
Nine intercollegiate squads garnered the NSCAA’s Gold Team Ethics Award for completing the 2009 season without receiving either a yellow or red card, while an additional 45 teams won the Silver award for collecting a maximum of five yellow and no red cards.
Drake was the lone Missouri Valley Conference representative, men or women, among the 68 teams honored.
