Des Moines art exhibit features works of Drake students

The work of three Drake art students is featured in “Des Moines Exhibited,” an exhibit opening on Friday, Nov. 20, at the Heritage Art Gallery in the Polk County Administrative Building at 111 Court Ave.

The Drake students whose work is featured are:

  • Ainsley Jordan Buhl, a junior painting and psychology double major from Virginia Beach, Va. Her work is an acrylic painting titled “Badlands.”

  • Ashley Machacek, a senior painting and English double major from Arvada, Colo. She has two works in the exhibit: “Flutus,” oil and latex on canvas, and “Intercapedo,” acrylic and charcoal on canvas.

  • Michael Carbaugh, a senior graphic design major and English minor from Naperville, Ill. His work is a print titled “Ed. 10,” which he created from an etching.

“Des Moines Exhibited” contains the works of approximately 21 artists and will continue through Jan. 28, 2010. The Heritage Gallery hours are Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For further information, contact the gallery at 515-286-2242 or info@heritagegallery.org.
