Informational session on summer South Africa seminar set for Tuesday

Drake students interested in studying abroad in South Africa this summer will have an opportunity to learn more about the trip at an informational session on Tues., Oct. 13. The session will begin at 5 p.m. in the Medbury Honors Lounge, 2730 Forest Ave.

“Seeing South Africa: Studying Histories to Envision Futures,” is a three-week, six-credit course that incorporates in-class meetings in Des Moines upon returning from South Africa. The trip is scheduled from May 18-June 4, 2010.

The class, which is listed as both English 165 and English 93, will meet multicultural and written communication course requirements for students. This is the first time the course has been offered.

Drake assistant English professors Melisa Klimaszewski and Jennifer Perrine will instruct students and accompany them on the trip.
