Lecture to feature collection of handmade Cuban books

Mireilla Djenno, assistant professor of librarianship, will give a lecture on handmade books from Cuba as part of the Drake University Humanities Center Colloquium Series on Friday, Oct. 16.


The talk, titled “Treasures from the Island: Cuban Handmade Books from Cowles Library Special Collections,” will begin at 3:30 p.m. in Medbury Honors Lounge, 2730 Forest Ave.. It is free and open to the public.

Djenno has bachelor’s degrees in philosophy, French and Spanish from the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point and master’s degrees in comparative literature and library and information studies from the University of Wisconsin – Madison.

The series is sponsored by the Drake Center for the Humanities.
