CONTACT: Tory Olson, 515-271-1834, tory.olson@drake.edu

Drake University sophomore Ian Weller will talk about his work photographing the Milky Way this summer on Wednesday, Oct. 7.

The discussion is part of Cowles Library’s Midweek Muses and Munchies series.

The lecture, which is free and open to the public, will begin at 12:10 p.m. in room 122 of Cowles Library, 2725 University Ave.

Participants may bring their own lunch or purchase food from Cowles Café in the library.

Weller of Waunakee, Wis., who is majoring in international relations, spent the summer photographing the Milky Way and a lighthouse at the Apostle Islands in Wisconsin with his father, Mark, and friend, John Rummel.

Sales of the photograph benefit Friends of the Apostle Islands, an organization that promotes appreciation and preservation of the natural environment and cultural heritage of Apostle Islands.

The Midweek Muses and Munchies series promotes discussion and discourse related to books and various academic topics and takes place each Wednesday in October.
