Interested singers are welcome to join the Drake University/Community Chorus, which will rehearse and perform “To Be Certain of the Dawn,” a Holocaust memorial oratorio by Stephen Paulus.
The chorus is open without audition to all interested singers. The ensemble rehearses each Tuesday evening from 6:30 to 8 p.m., beginning Jan. 20.
The ensemble will collaborate with Drake’s other choruses and a faculty/student orchestra to present “To Be Certain of the Dawn” at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 19, at the Civic Center of Greater Des Moines.
To participate in the chorus, singers must report to the first rehearsal at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 20 in Monroe Recital Hall on the lower level of the Harmon Fine Arts Center, 25th Street and Carpenter Avenue. They also need to purchase the music for the Holocaust oratorio at the University Book Store, 3003 Forest Ave.
