Goldford to discuss the First Amendment and religion

Dennis Goldford, professor of politics at Drake University, will give a talk titled “The First Amendment Does Not Protect Religion” on Tuesday, March 25.

The talk, which is part of the Law, Politics and Society Research Conversation Series, is free and open to the public. It will start at 3:30 p.m. in the Cowles Library Reading Room, 2725 University Ave.

Goldford teaches in the areas of political theory and constitutional law. His research focuses on politics and religion. His latest book is titled “The American Constitution and the Debate Over Originalism.”

The purpose of the research conversations is to create an informal, interdisciplinary and intellectually engaging forum to discuss scholarship related to the complex intersections of law and society.
