Ad students complete three agency tours during JMC 129
Advertising students participate in three visits to ad agencies in the curriculum of the Account Management course, JMC 129. In addition to Saturday Manufacturing, students also met agency personnel at Meyocks Group and Flynn-Wright this semester. According to Dorothy Pisarski, Associate Professor, these visits allow students to hear professionals describe their work, client relationships, management styles, and more. Students also find inspiration listening to the professionals discussing career paths and opportunities available in all aspects of the advertising industry. Success continues for Drake Law moot court teams
Two teams from Drake Law School recently competed in the regional rounds of the 64th Annual National Moot Court Competition. The team of Mara Jones, Kyle Mendenhall and Louis Sloven won the regional and advance to the National Finals in New York City in February.
Public relations professors win honors
The Central Iowa Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America presented two of Drake’s assistant professors of public relations with 2013 Awards of Excellence, the highest individual honors bestowed by the organization. Kelly Bruhn, Ph.D., APR, was named Outstanding Chapter Member, and David Remund, Ph.D., APR, was named Outstanding PR Professional.
