Hy-Vee, Polk County Health Department, and Drake University partner to host COVID-19 vaccination clinic for Polk County educators on Saturday, Feb. 13, 2021

Appointments Are Required and Must be Made Online In Advance

Hy-Vee, Inc., and Drake University’s College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences announced today that they are partnering with the Polk County Health Department and Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Iowa to host a COVID-19 vaccination clinic for approximately 1,000 Polk County educators, including PK-12 school staff, early childhood education and childcare workers as outlined by the state of Iowa’s current vaccination eligibility guidance.

The vaccination clinic will take place at the Gregory and Suzie Glazer Burt Club on the Drake University campus from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 13. Vaccination appointments are required and must be made in advance online at www.hy-vee.com/my-pharmacy/covid-vaccine-consent.

The online appointment scheduler is now open for this event and can be accessed by selecting the “Event” option and then selecting “Polk County Educators Event.” Individuals will then be able to choose their preferred appointment time and complete the digital vaccine consent form.

Hy-Vee pharmacy team members, along with Drake University pharmacists and pharmacy students, will administer the vaccines. Second dose appointments will be scheduled onsite.

Free parking will be available in the following lots:

  • Parking Lot 1A (entrance on Carpenter Avenue): 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Parking Lot 10 (entrance on west side of 25th Street): 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Parking Lot 1 (entrance on east side of 25th Street): noon to 4 p.m.

Vaccination check-in will be at the northeast entrance of the Boys & Girls Club, on the corner of 25th Street and Forest Avenue.

Vaccine recipients are asked to remain in their vehicles until their appointment time slot, bring/show their vaccination appointment confirmation, wear a mask and be prepared to show a school ID/badge.
