DMACC students enrolled in Drake Admission Partnership Program also receive student advisor, Drake email address and Drake student ID
A new program will help Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) students complete an undergraduate degree at Drake University. DMACC students enrolled in the Drake Admission Partnership Program (DAPP) will receive guaranteed admission to Drake after successful completion of required DMACC coursework.
“Breaking down barriers and creating a stronger connection between Drake and DMACC will benefit central Iowa,” said Drake Dean of Admission Anne Kremer. “We are partnering with DMACC to cut red tape and help their students more seamlessly transfer to Drake.”
Currently, 129 former DMACC students attend Drake. With successful implementation, DAPP aims to increase that number in the coming years.
DMACC students enrolled in DAPP receive:
- Access to a Drake University Transfer Student Advisor who will help them understand what DMACC coursework they need to eventually enroll at Drake
- Cross enrollment advising—cross enrollment allows 50 DMACC students to enroll in Drake courses each semester without paying Drake tuition
- Invitations to Drake-sponsored career fairs
- A Drake email account
- A Drake student ID, which allows access to the Drake University library, campus recreational facilities and free or discounted access to Drake events
