Keith Summerville's research interests include restoration of Tallgrass prairie animal communities, sustainable forestry, ape conservation, conservation biology of forest Lepidoptera, birds, reptiles and amphibians, and the community ecology of terrestrial vertebrate and insect assemblages. A professor at Drake University since 2002, Summerville was named Environmental Educator of the Year by the Sierra Club in 2008. He earned a Ph.D. and master's degree from Miami University and an undergraduate degree from Westminster College.
