State's justices to take to the radio airwaves

David Walker, a Drake University law professor and former law school dean, said he endorses the idea of the Iowa Supreme Court hosting the radio program, adding that it won't violate the court's decorum. The Iowa Supreme Court will hear its first cases since refilling its seven-justice roster at Drake University Law School next week.

Tanzania to host first ever game of America football in African soil

On May 21, 2011 in Arusha's Sheikh Amri Abeid Memorial Stadium, college football teams from the USA and Mexico will compete in front of 15,000 curious fans, for the Global Kilimanjaro Bowl, the very first game of American football on the African continent. The game will involve college student athletes from Drake Universit and the CONADEIP Mexico League.

An Artist's Homecoming

Drake alumnus and Chicago artist Alvin Hawkins is quoted in a profile of Calvin Jones, one of the midwest's premier Afrocentric painters. Jones took Hawkins under his wing, helping him build a portfolio shortly after graduation.

Drake trustee, staff and alumnus chosen for the annual Grinnell College social justice prize selection committee

Drake trustee Suku Radia, president and CEO, Bankers Trust, Marsha K. Ternus, LW'77, former chief justice, Iowa Supreme Court, and Emily Westergaard Hamilton, GR'09, executive director, Des Moines "I Have a Dream" Foundation were named to the 10-person selection committee for The Grinnell College Young Innovator for Social Justice Prize.
