Drake alumnus Gary Porter and his wife, Melissa, have teamed up to write and market a book titled "Duffy The Tale of a Terrier." The subject matter, inspired by the Porter's late pet, is a departure from the accounting textbooks Gary, a retired professor of accounting, began writing.

Drake graduate and Masters champion Zach Johnson unveiled Kids on Course, a pilot program in Johnson's hometown of Cedar Rapids. The Zach Johnson Foundation supports the initiative, which is designed to support academic and personal success while connecting with families.

Linda Krypel, professor of clinical pharmacy at Drake, is quoted about the lack of regulation of dietary supplements. "We estimate anywhere between 20 and 50 percent of all dietary supplements have some sort of contamination," she said.
