Drake Student Named New Associate Superintendent
Thomas Ahart, who is in the process of completing his doctor of education in leadership from Drake, has been appointed the Des Moines school districts associate superintendent position. Ahart is currently the principal of Warren G. Harding Middle School in Des Moines.
Drake Bulldogs, Schmudlach return from Africa trip
Jacob Schmudlach, a Drake student and member of the University's football team, describes his experiences in Africa during the team's recent two-week trip. "The whole thing was a very humbling experience," Schmudlach said. "I'm so glad I went, and I will go back if I ever get the chance."
Tea party backers launch tour of state
Drake University political scientist Dennis Goldford said he believes it is possible for the tea party to have an impact at next year's Iowa caucuses because the caucuses typically don't draw large turnouts. "In a low turnout event, even a small group at the margins can make a significant difference," Goldford said.
