The Master of Science in Education has revised its core courses as well as its name. Look for Teacher Effectiveness and Professional Development (TEPD) on our website.
TEPD is designed for any certified teacher to improve teaching skills. Graduates of the program will become instructional leaders, culturally responsive teachers, teachers who use assessment for learning, and professionals who continue to grow. TEPD utilizes the idea of professional learning communities to explore and extend relevant professional knowledge.
This 32 hour graduate program is offered in weekend format on campus and in other select locations around Iowa. Information sessions for a program to begin fall 2010 in Bettendorf are being held Tuesday, April 20 at 4:30 and 6:30 at the Mississippi Bend AEA.
The total core course requirement equals 17 hours with the remaining 15 hours in coursework that comes from an area of specialization or an endorsement chosen by the student.
