Spencer Myer, associate professor of piano at the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University, is the first featured guest artist of the 2025-2026 season of Drake University’s Keys to Excellence Piano Series on Monday, Oct. 27, at 7:30 p.m. in Sheslow Auditorium. Admission is free. Myer will also present a public masterclass on Sunday, Oct. 26 at 4 p.m. in Sheslow Auditorium.
Lauded for “superb playing” and “poised, alert musicianship” by The Boston Globe and labeled “definitely a man to watch” by London’s The Independent, American pianist Spencer Myer is one of the most respected and sought-after artists on today’s concert stages.
The concert program is comprised of the following works:
- Haydn: Fantasia in C Major, Hob. XVII:4
- Ravel: Miroirs
- Liszt: Tre Sonetti del Petrarca
- Vine: Piano Sonata No. 1 (1990)
