The fall season of the Humanities Center Colloquium series will start with a presentation by Jeff Karnicky, visiting professor of English, on “Thinking with Blue Jays,” from 3:30-5 p.m., on Friday, Sept. 28. The colloquium series, which is free and open to the Drake community, will be held in the Medbury Honors Lounge, Medbury Hall.

• Friday, Oct. 12 — Eric Saylor, assistant professor of music history, “‘It’s Not Lambkins Frisking at All:’ English Pastoral Music and the Great War.'”
• Friday, Nov. 9 — Megan Brown, assistant professor of English, “Somehow We All Survived: The Ideology of the U.S. Backlash Against Risk Management.”
• Friday, Nov. 30 — Joan Faber McAlister, assistant professor of rhetoric, “Hannah Arendt’s Concept of Natality as Political Agency.”
