Liao Zhigang |
Drake University Law School is hosting visiting professor Liao Zhigang who will be delivering a lecture on “New Developments in Intellectual Property Law in China”, April, 4 at 4:00 p.m. in Cartwright Hall Room 203. The lecture will give an overview of the Patent Law, Copyright Law and Trademark Law in the People’s Republic of China, and examine amendments to these laws and other regulations.
Dean Zhigang will also discuss issues in enforcement, including judicial and administrative matters. At a general level, there may be some disparities between the multilateral trade agreements concluded within the framework of the Uruguay Round, including the TRIPS Agreement and the implementing legislation of Members. Many countries, including China, are trying to fulfill their obligations under the TRIPS Agreement. In fact, China has made great efforts and achieved some progress in the protection of IPR, although some problems still exist.
