The Drake Constitutional Law Center is pleased to welcome Harvard Law School’s Kirkland & Ellis Professor of Law, Nicholas Stephanopoulos, as the 2025 Constitution Day speaker. He will present “Aligning Constitutional Law” on Thursday, Sept. 18, at 3 p.m. in the James Albert Classroom (213) in Cartwright Hall with in-person or livestream options. This event is free and open to the public. Register here.
Stephanopoulos is a nationally recognized expert in election law, constitutional law, and democratic theory. His scholarship has appeared in leading law reviews and major media outlets. He has been involved in several litigation efforts as well, including two partisan gerrymandering cases based on his scholarship and decided by the U.S. Supreme Court. He is the author of Aligning Election Law and coauthor of the leading casebook Election Law: Cases and Materials. Stephanopoulos also serves as Director of Strategy for Harvard’s Election Law Clinic and co-founded PlanScore and TrueViews, tools that help visualize redistricting and policy preferences.
“We are excited to be joined by one of the nation’s leading election scholars,” said Drake Law Professor and Director of the Constitutional Law Center, Mark Kende. “He has fought particularly hard against partisan gerrymandering and he is an important new voice in constitutional law.”
