Join the 48-hour film festival
The DBS 48-hour film festival begins this weekend. For those who don’t know, the 48-hour film festival is a film-making competition built for students to show off and gain recognition for their film making skills.
Either by yourself, with your own team of friends, or with a DBS exec member’s team, you’ll be given 48 hours (starting at 7 p.m. on Friday) to create a short film! Past entries have been filmed using a combination of iPhone, handheld and film cameras and have spanned from a single minute to 10 minutes, so there’s a lot of room for creative freedom!
You’ll have free reign to create whatever film in whatever genre you want – you just have to find a way to include your assigned line of dialogue and given prop in your film, which will be given to you at the kickoff meeting.
The kickoff meeting for this event will occur this Friday at 7 p.m. in the basement of Meredith Hall. Students who are interested in signing up either on their own or with a team do so via this Google form by Friday. That way, we’ll know how many teams are competing. If you sign up, you must come to Friday’s kickoff meeting.
Drake to host WELLCON24
Rec Services, Counseling Center and Drake Wellness are hosting a Wellness Convention on Oct. 23, from 3-5 p.m. WELLCON24 is an effort to reach out to students, offer wellness tips, and encourage them to engage with programming throughout the school year.
