The Drake University Constitutional Law Center is pleased to announce Ronald Krotoszynski as presenter of the spring 2024 Distinguished Lecture. His lecture titled “Free Speech as Civic Structure: A Comparative Analysis of How Courts and Culture Shape the Freedom of Speech” will be delivered in-person and virtually on Thursday, March 21 at 3:00 p.m. at Drake University Law School, Cartwright Hall, room 213. Registration is free and open to the public.
Ronald Krotoszynski serves as the John S. Stone Chairholder of Law and Director of Faculty Research at the University of Alabama. His research focuses on administrative law, constitutional law, First Amendment law, and telecommunications law. He is one of the nation’s preeminent scholars on freedom of expression.
“There is significant debate about restrictions on social media and other kinds of controversial speech, especially at universities,” said Professor Mark Kende, Director of the Constitutional Law Center. “Professor Krotoszynski is one of the nation’s leading experts on freedom of expression in the U.S. and abroad so he will shed light on these matters.”
The Constitutional Law Center’s Distinguished Lecture Series brings to campus the nation’s leading constitutional scholars to engage students and faculty on the important issues of the day. Speakers deliver a formal lecture, give a presentation to faculty, and meet with students in informal settings.
