Apply for prestigious magazine internship

You could spend next summer working for a national magazine brand as an ASME intern. Considered one of the most prestigious internships in the country, the American Society of Magazine Editors (ASME) summer internship program pairs roughly 30 students from across the U.S. with brands in Washington, D.C. and New York City. For 12 weeks students are immersed in the media world, working alongside industry veterans creating everything from great print stories to breaking web content. You could be one of them.

Eligible students will have completed their junior year by June 2022 and must be willing to spend the summer — early June to early August 2022 — in New York City or Washington, D.C. Previous experience as an intern for a publication or with a campus magazine is preferred.

To apply, you must submit your PDF application to Professor Inman via email or link to jeff.inman@drake.edu by 5 p.m. CDT Oct. 15, 2021. Your application must include the following:

1. Resume
2. Cover letter
3. Five published work samples

Students accepted into the program will be assigned by ASME to various publications based on their skill set and the needs of the magazines. Applicants may not get their preferred magazine; they will, however, always get invaluable experience. This internship is paid.
