In our current environment, more and more of us are working in a hybrid format (e.g., mixing both face-to-face and virtual collaboration). Alanah Mitchell, Aliber Distinguished Associate Professor and Chair of Information Management and Business Analytics, has recently published an article “Leading hybrid teams: Strategies for realizing the best of both worlds” in Organizational Dynamics offering several strategies for effective leadership of hybrid team members including a quick start guide with actionable suggestions for leaders of hybrid teams. The article is open to the public for a limited time and can be found here: https://authors.elsevier.com/a/1dRS2KXUhsqZT
Mitchell has been studying technology supported collaboration for years, primarily focusing on the design, implementation, and use of information and communication technologies for collaboration, specifically in global virtual teams. She has been teaching at Drake since 2015.
