Drake University signed a new memorandum of understanding with The Institute of World Politics (IWP), an independent graduate school for students pursuing careers in statecraft, national security, intelligence, and global affairs. IWP has campuses in Washington, D.C. and Reston, Virginia.
As part of this new partnership, Drake University students are now eligible for early admission to IWP’s master’s programs if they apply on or after April 30 of their third year of college. Drake University alumni who attend IWP’s in-person master’s programs will also receive a guaranteed partial scholarship each semester. There will also be a tuition reduction for Drake alumni who are enrolled in IWP’s distance programs. This partnership includes priority consideration for Drake students in IWP’s internship program.
“I greatly appreciate IWP extending these benefits to our students and graduates,” said Drake University President Marty Martin. “The chance to learn from and be mentored by IWP subject matter experts in Washington, D.C.—blocks from the White House—will be a highly valued opportunity for any number of Drake students in the years ahead.”
“All of us here at the Institute look forward to forging an enduring partnership with Drake, one of the finest institutions of higher learning in the Midwest with exceptional leadership, staff, and faculty,” said Chris Glass, senior vice president for professional affiliations at IWP. “Building together, we will offer the benefits and resources of larger institutions combined with the advantages of intimate class sizes and close personal relationships for all our students.”
