Drake University is pleased to offer six scholarships in the amount of $3,000 to Iowa women pursuing graduate degrees within the College of Business and Public Administration.

The scholarships are made possible through the Judith A. Lindquist Scholarship for Graduate Studies in Business and Public Administration—named in honor of the late Judy Lindquist, a 1970 Drake alumna who dedicated her life to teaching socially disadvantaged elementary students at Des Moines Public Schools.

“The Judith A. Lindquist Scholarship is intended to empower the next generation of female business leaders in Iowa,” said Alejandro Hernandez, dean of the College of Business and Public Administration. “Through the scholarship, we are honored to be able to carry out Judy’s legacy—and our own mission— of opening doors of opportunity for women to bring their full potential to all sectors of society.”

Two, one-time scholarships in the amount of $3,000 will be offered each semester starting in Summer 2021, Fall 2021, and Spring 2022. To apply, students must be female, Iowa residents newly admitted to one of the following programs: Master of Accounting, Master of Business Administration, Master of Public Administration, Master of Science in Business Analytics, and certificate programs.

In addition to financial support for newly admitted students, the scholarship provides awards to current students annually through a scholarship application process. Since Spring 2017, more than $315,000 has been awarded to current and newly admitted students in CBPA graduate programs.
