Alumna Bannister’s book available Aug. 17
SJMC grad Megan Bannister’s book Iowa Supper Clubs will be available to purchase on Aug. 17. In Iowa, hundreds of supper clubs once dotted the state’s rural highways and byways, serving as havens for hungry travelers and community gathering places for small towns. Bannister also writes the travel blog Olio in Iowa.

Journal seeks student copy editor: The Journal for Advancing Sport Psychology in Research, a student-centered and peer-reviewed scientific journal, is continuing to seek applications for a student copy editor. A $1,250 scholarship will be awarded to the chosen candidate for their service term. Online student magazine seeks writers: College Magazine’s professional writing program is a four-month commitment that includes a seven-week intensive training where you’ll uncover your voice, interview dream sources and write meaningful articles that readers love. It’s a volunteer, intensive and challenging writing experience. Professor Snider offers social media training: Do you know someone who runs social media for a small business or organization? Drake SJMC associate professor Chris Snider launched an online social media course to help professionals create better social media content.
