Kicking off our accreditation year
The SJMC is accredited by the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communication — one of only 15 private-institution programs in the world so accredited. And this year is our accreditation year: In November, we will submit our big “self study” report, which demonstrates how we are meeting our promise to provide excellent JMC education across the nine accrediting standards (for example, curriculum, student services, public service and faculty scholarship) . Then in February 2017, a team of communications professionals and professors from other accredited programs will come to Drake for a “site visit” to check us out. They’ll talk to faculty, area professionals, alumni, colleagues on campus — and our students.
Stay tuned for more information about how you can get involved!
