Summer Courses Being Offered in Special Education

The School of Education is pleased to offer learning opportunities in the field of Special Education.  Coursework necessary for completing two different Special Education endorsements will be offered this summer.  Special Education professionals can complete the Special Education Consultant or the Work Experience Coordinator endorsements.

The Special Education Consultant endorsement offered through the Drake University School of Education is one of the few universities in the state of Iowa to offers this endorsement.  The Special Education Consultant endorsement will prepare you as a specialist for consultant roles at the district, regional or state level. Special Education consultants are increasing in demand as districts and organizations work to administer programs designed for students with various disabilities.

The Work Experience Coordinator Endorsement program prepares individuals to collaborate with community resources and parents, to build assistance teams and to provide support service to secondary school programs (5-12).

For more details regarding the courses being offered and application requirements, visit www.drake.edu/specialeducation.  Coursework can begin before completing the application process.  Registration for non-degree seeking students begins April 20.
