Students make “Sweet 16” in national clinical pharmacy contest

High honors for two Drake pharmacy fraternities
Drake’s professional pharmacy fraternity chapters Phi Delta Chi and Kappa Psi both earned third-place chapter awards—among the best in the nation by their national organizations.

Student Anna Shields receives national scholarship
The National Community of Pharmacists Association (NCPA) recognized Drake student Anna Shields, P4, with a national scholarship worth $2,500 that includes travel expenses for attending the national meeting in October. Shields also received the Presidential Scholarship, which recognizes leadership qualities and academic achievement.
Kelsey Japs, P4, selected as Walmart/Pharmacy Times RESPy Award Winner
Awarded to students who show respect, excellence, and service in the pharmacy profession, this year’s RESPy went to Kelsey Japs, P4, who was featured in an article in Pharmacy Times, and will receive a $1000 scholarship and a hand-crafted, one-of-a-kind mortar and pestle.
