For six weeks, Erin Dobey, a junior in the undergraduate program, has been mentoring students at Hubbell Elementary. Erin worked with three, fifth graders at Hubbell Elementary. Each year, the students do a research project on a topic of interest to those students. This group chose to do gun safety. There are a small number of School of Education students that assist with this project every year. Erin stated, “I come in for an hour every week and worked with them. They have worked very hard on this and I’m so proud of the progress they’ve made!” Hubbell Elementary hosts an exposition where students showcased their work. They presented their projects to peers, teachers, parents, and administration.
