“Inside // Out” features the work of Drake University art and design seniors Lauren Oliver, Laura Hansen, Megan Lawrence, and Nicole Dyar. The exhibition will be open to the public April 11-25 at the Drake University Anderson Gallery. The artists will host a public opening reception on Friday, April 11 from 5–7 p.m.
Through a diverse range of media, including drawing, graphic design, installation, painting and printmaking, all four artists explore themes of internal and external experience relative to how we, as viewers and creators, visualize the world around us. This exhibition serves as the culminating event for the four students’ capstone experience.
In addition to “Inside // Out,” Katherine Clark will be exhibiting work in Drake University’s Weeks Gallery as part of her senior capstone experience. Clark’s exhibition, “Float,” will be on view April 11–25.
As a student of both art and environmental science, Clark’s paintings are loosely based on sketches from her field journals.
“Some works have become a documentation of the process journey through a physical space,” says Clark, “while others recall memories of trips and experiences.” The Weeks Gallery is located on the second floor of Drake University’s Harmon Fine Arts Building.
