On Oct. 6, the Drake Symphony Orchestra will present its first concert of the season in Sheslow Auditorium on Drake University’s campus. The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
The concert will feature Mozart’s Symphony No. 38, “Prague,” and selections from Tchaikovsky’s “Swan Lake.”
Drake students audition for the Drake Symphony Orchestra annually. The Orchestra, under the direction of Akira Mori, associate professor of music, performs four times per year. Each concert features an assorted repertoire of musical pieces, featuring faculty soloists and special performances from the winners of the annual Drake Concerto Competition.
