On Oct. 7, the Generational Equity Tour will visit Drake University and feature a screening of the documentary film “Overdraft” at 6 p.m. in Parents Hall in Olmsted Center, 2875 University Ave. This event is free and open to the public.
The Generational Equity Tour is a cross-country series of public engagement events organized by The Can Kicks Back, a non-partisan millennial movement to defeat the national debt. The tour aims to educate, organize, and mobilize young Americans on the issue of the nation’s growing debt.
The film, “Overdraft,” is a non-partisan documentary that highlights the growing U.S. deficit and its critical implications for individuals and U.S. economic competitiveness. Following the film, The Concord Coalition will present “Debt Busters,” an interactive budgeting simulation. Free pizza will be provided.
Members of The Can Kicks Back will be on Drake’s campus at Helmick Commons during the day on Oct. 7. Visit http://www.thecankicksback.org/drake to RSVP for the event, or find out more information by emailing campaign@thecankicksback.org or visiting Helmick Commons on Oct. 7.
