Wrongful convictions expert to speak at Drake Law School

Prof. Jon Gould, professor in the Department of Justice, Law and Society at American University, will give a talk entitled, “Predicting Wrongful Convictions” at the Drake University Law School on Friday, Oct. 11.

The talk is based on Prof. Gould’s study of the systemic factors that contribute to the conviction of the innocent which will be published in an upcoming issue of the Iowa Law Review. Professor Gould will be speaking at 12 p.m. in 213 Cartwright Hall. The event is free and open to the public.

Prof. Gould’s talk is co-sponsored by the Innocence Project of Iowa, the Drake University Law School, the Iowa Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Iowa State Bar Association, and the University of Iowa Center for Human Rights.
