The running of the 104th annual Drake Relays, presented by Hy-Vee, is two months away—and you won’t want to miss the week’s events, both on and off the famed Blue Oval, from April 22-28.
Drake is hosting six alumni reunions during Relays weekend. We hope you’ll join us to reconnect with friends, relive great memories from your days at Drake, and, while you’re here, experience the thrill of this year’s Olympic rematches and record-setting prize purses at Drake Stadium.
Visit www.drake.edu/relays to RSVP for reunions including School of Journalism and Mass Communication, Environmental Science and Policy, and 10-, 20-, 25-, and 40-year.
Like last year, the Drake alumni tent, sponsored by the Drake University National Alumni Association and Liberty Mutual, will be located in Herriott Circle directly across University Avenue from Drake Stadium.
If you missed the announcement in our December eBlue, there’s a big reason this year’s Relays are “Stronger Than Ever.” Hy-Vee, Inc., will serve as presenting sponsor, opening new doors that promise to enhance and elevate the Relays’ already sterling reputation.
The meet, which will include appearances by at least 28 competitors from the 2012 London Olympic Games, will be featured on ESPN2 with 90 minutes of action being broadcast to nearly 100 million homes in primetime.
Swing by the stadium on Sunday morning for free access to watch the conclusion of the Hy-Vee Road Races at the Drake Relays—with the largest prize purses in Relays history—and an official closing ceremony to follow at approximately 11 a.m.
All-session and multi-session Relays tickets are on sale as of Feb. 18, and single-session tickets go on sale March 25. Tickets are also on sale for the Grand Blue Mile event and the Hy-Vee Road Races at the Drake Relays, and can be purchased on those events’ websites.
Visit www.drake.edu/relays for Relays tickets, news, schedules, accommodations information, and links to the Relays’ social media channels.
