The Times-Delphic captured nine awards in the annual Iowa College Media Association contest, including first place for general excellence.
The awards, for student-run newspapers published in the 2011-12 school year, were announced Thursday night at the association’s annual conference in downtown Des Moines.
The T-D won:

- second place, sports photo, Taylor Soule
- second place, profile, Elizabeth Robinson
- third place, news story, Lauren Horsch
- third place, editorial leadership
- honorable mention, sports photo, Alex Masica
The T-D’s 2011-12 editors-in-chief were Kristen Smith (fall) and Lauren Horsch (spring).
