Per Danielsson, assistant professor of jazz piano at the University of Central Florida and accomplished jazz pianist, composer and arranger, will give a concert at the Turner Jazz Center on Friday, May 4 at 10 p.m. The performance is part of the Drake University Jazz Piano Series and is free and open to the public. West Music and Yamaha Corporation of America are sponsoring the event. Danielsson will also offer a master class on May 5 from 10 a.m. – noon at the Turner Jazz Center.
In addition to teaching, Danielsson is an active performer and has played alongside some of jazz’s top artists, including Rosemary Clooney, Louis Bellson and Clark Terry. His current projects include trio and quartet recordings with jazz great Danny Gottlieb and he can be heard on a number of recordings with various performers.

This fundraising effort is designed to enhance the University’s music program by replacing 68 well-used pianos. West Music and Yamaha Corporation of America have partnered to help present this concert series and support Drake in its efforts to provide students the best possible learning experience.
