The debate, moderated by Diane Sawyer and George Stephanopoulos, will air Dec. 10, live on ABC
Drake University will host a live, nationally televised presidential debate on campus at 8 p.m. December 10, 2011.
ABC political news veterans Diane Sawyer and George Stephanopoulos will moderate this pivotal debate among Republican presidential candidates.
“We are honored and excited to again be hosting such an important part of the presidential nominating process,” said Professor Rachel Paine Caulfield, director of Drake’s Iowa Caucus Project. “ABC has committed to involving dozens of students in a variety of important roles in preparation for and during the debate. These internships provide students an amazing opportunity to participate in a nationally broadcast program.”
The debate, which will occur just weeks before the January 3, 2012 Iowa caucuses, will be held in Sheslow Auditorium, 2507 University Ave. It will air nationally at 8 p.m. CST on ABC, and stream simultaneously on ABCNews.com.
The debate is co-sponsored by ABC News, ABC5/WOI-DT and the Iowa Republican Party. Tickets will not be available to the public.
