Dr. Tonia Land successfully defended her dissertation-Investigating Pedagogical Design Capacity for Teaching Elementary Mathematics: A Cross-Case Analysis of Expert Teachers last week at Iowa State University. Dr. Land, a new addition to the School of Education roster has also been appointed to serve another year as an Assistant Professor of Elementary Math and Educational Technology. She is co-authoring an elementary mathematics methods book. She presented the book’s contents at the Association for Mathematics Teacher Education’s annual conference and results from the study, “Supporting and Examining Pre-service Teachers’ Emerging Abilities to Read Standards-based Curriculum Materials.” We’re so very proud of Dr. Land’s accomplishments!
